In 1994 the Swiss Air Force Hunter where adopted in a big celebration in Buochs. From 1957, the Hawker Hunter had contribution to the defense of Switzerland. First, as a fighter later on as a Ground-attacker aircraft. To see some Hunter’s in 2012 still flying is a contribution of many volunteers, enthusiasts and the help of some museums.

Huntermeeting

The Interlaken Hunter Club celebrated on 11th August 2012 its 20th anniversary and invited to the airfield festival. The two Hunters (J-4007 & J-4018) belonging to the Hunter Society and are well maintained. Both Hunter are in a non-flyable, but in excellent condition.

The Flying-Display was therefore made by Hunter J-4015 (actually J-4040), the famous papyrus Hunter and the two-seater (J-4201). As usual in Switzerland, the aircraft flew very high and showed there undersides during the fly-past.

Alouette and Co.

The further program was denied by a Pilatus PC-7 and an Alouette III, both former aircrafts in the inventory of Swiss Air Force.

Unusual was the fact that all aircrafts in the static display where not fenced in, providing full access by the crowd.

The Swiss Air Force was present with the ever-popular Patrouille Suisse. Before the show began there was an autograph session by the pilots, just been flew in by a larger Super Puma helicopter

The show was excellent as always - contrary to RAF Fairford Air show, because of bad weather, the Aerobatic team was able to show their full program at Interlaken.
