From 30. June - 29. July 2018  the military airfield Emmen takes over the function as the main operational airfield of the Swiss Air Force for training and air police missions with F/A-18. The other military jet airfields are closed during this time resp. serve as a backup airfield. The mostly quiet Air Base come up to fife at this time time. Geri Friedlos hat take the first pictures and got the specialty painted J-5017 Hornet for his Lens. The No. 17 Fighter Squadron Hawk or Hawk J-5017, has a newly painted bird on its tail. Vom 30. June – 29. Juli 2018 übernimmt der Militärflugplatz Emmen die Funktion des Haupteinsatz Flugplatzes der Schweizer Luftwaffe für Trainings- und Luftpolizeieinsätze mit F/A-18. Die anderen Militärjetflugplätze sind in dieser Zeit geschlossen resp. dienen als Ausweichflugplatz. Die meist ruhige Air Base erwacht zu dieser Zeit zum Leben. Geri Friedlos hat die ersten Bilder gemacht und vor seine Linse die speziell bemalte J-5017 Hornet bekommen. Die 17 Fliegerstaffel Falcon, J-5017 hat einen neu gemalten Vogel auf dem Seitenruder.
