History

1982 took RTAF a DC-8-62 over from the airline Thai International to fulfil their global obligations. The Aircraft was assigned to the 601 Sqn. 6. Wing 1985 acquired the RTAF two further aircrafts from the Thai Inter. 60110 and 60112, the 1985 acquisition, where two passenger planes, besides the 60109 was pure freighter. The planes where also used for the royal family. 1989 all planes where sold to a Miami based Company, since the purchase of spare parts became too complex.

Geschichte

Um ihren globalen Verpflichtungen nachkommen zu können übernahm die RTAF 1982 eine DC-8-62 von der Airline Thai International. Die Maschine wurde von der 601 Staffel 6. Gruppe betrieben. 1985 erwarb die RTAF zwei weitere Maschinen von der Thai Inter. Bei den 1985 erworbenen DC-8 handelt es sich um Passagiermaschinen während der 60109 eine reiner Frachter war. 60110 und 60112 wurden auch von der königlichen Familie verwendet. 1989 wurden die Maschinen nach Miami verkauft, da die Ersatzteilbeschaffung zu aufwendig wurde.
