The Hiller OH-23 Raven was a
three-place, light observation helicopter based on the Hiller Model 360.
The Model 360 was designated by the company as the UH-12 ("UH" for
United Helicopters), which was first flown in 1948.
In 1949, the UH-12 became the first helicopter to make a
transcontinental flight from California to New York. When Hiller
upgraded the engine and the rotor blades, the company designated the new
model as the UH-12A.
Der Hiller
OH-23 Raven war ein dreisitziger leichter Beobachtungshubschrauber auf Basis
des Hiller-Modells 360. Das Modell 360 wurde von der Firma als UH-12 ("UH"
für United Helicopters) bezeichnet, das 1948 erstmals geflogen wurde.
1949 wurde die UH-12 der erste Hubschrauber, der einen transkontinentalen
Flug von Kalifornien nach New York unternahm. Als Hiller den Motor und die
Rotorblätter verbesserte, bezeichnete das Unternehmen das neue Modell als
UH-12A.
