Einsatzgeschichte
Um den gestiegenen Transportanforderungen gerecht zu werden wurden 1987 drei Super Puma von der Flugwaffe erworben. Nach den positiven Erfahrungen wurde mit dem Rüstungsprogramm 1989 eine Serie von 12. Maschinen erworben.
1998 erfolgte die dritte Bestellung des Super Pumas, doch diesmal wurde die verbesserte Version Cougar mit einem Glascockpit und weiteren Verbesserungen gewählt. Die Hubschrauber wurden zwischen 2001 und 2002 an die Flugwaffe übergeben. Die 27 Maschinen der Super Puma / Cougar Reihe bilden das Rückgrad der Transportflotte der Flugwaffe.
