Dornier Do-27
Entwicklung
The Dornier Do-27 is a German single-engine STOL utility aircraft that was designed and manufactured by Dornier GmbH. The Do-27's precursor, the Do-25, was developed by Dornier at the firm's facilities in Spain in order to satisfy a Spanish military requirement that called for a light utility aircraft with short takeoff and landing performance. On 27 June 1955, the original prototype performed its maiden flight in Spain. A total of 40 Do 27s were manufactured in Spain by Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA, designated CASA-127. However, the majority of production aircraft were constructed at Dornier's main base in Germany; the first German-built aircraft conducted its first flight on 17 October 1956. A total of 428 Do 27s would be produced in Germany.
Die Dornier Do-27 ist ein deutsches einmotoriges STOL-Mehrzweckflugzeug, das von der Dornier GmbH entwickelt und hergestellt wurde. Der Vorläufer der Do-27, die Do-25, wurde von Dornier in den Werken den Werkstätten in Spanien entwickelt, um eine militärische Anforderung Spaniens zu erfüllen, die ein leichtes Mehrzweckflugzeug mit kurzer Start- und Landeleistung erforderte. Am 27. Juni 1955 absolvierte der Ur-Prototyp seinen Erstflug in Spanien. Insgesamt 40 Do 27 wurden in Spanien von Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA mit der Bezeichnung CASA-127 hergestellt. Der Grossteil der Serienflugzeuge wurde jedoch am Hauptsitz von Dornier in Deutschland gebaut; am 17. Oktober 1956 absolvierte das erste in Deutschland gebaute Flugzeug seinen Erstflug. Insgesamt 428 Do 27 würden in Deutschland produziert.

Operational history
Einsatzgeschichte
Das Flugzeug fand militärisch, vor allem bei Ver-bindungs-, Beobachtungs-, Ambulanz-, Rettungs- und Schulungsaufgaben Verwendung. In der Schweizer Luftwaffe waren sieben Do-27 im Einsatz, 2008 wurden die beiden letzten Exemplare ausgemustert.
