Development

Entwicklung

 

     Im 1917 wurde August Häefeli mit der Entwicklung eines einsitzigen Jägers beauftragt. Die DH-4 ist damit der erste in der Schweiz entwickelte Jäger. Die Grundkonstruktion wurde von der DH-3 über-nommen und für den Jagdeinsatz optimiert. Der im Mai 1918 an die Flugwaffe zur Erprobung über-gebene Prototyp erfüllte jedoch die Annforder-ungen in keiner Weise. Im August 1919 wurde die Maschine an die K & W in Thun zurückgegeben.
