 The Airbus A340 is a long-range, four-engine, wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner developed and produced by the European aerospace company Airbus. The A340 was assembled in Toulouse, France. It seats up to 375 passengers in the standard variants and 440 in the stretched -600 series. Depending on the model, it has a range of 12,400 to 16,700 km. Its distinguishing features are four high-bypass turbofan engines and three-bogie main landing gear.  

Der Airbus A340 ist ein vierstrahliges Langstrecken Großraum-Verkehrsflugzeug, das vom europä-ischen Luft- und Raumfahrtunternehmen Airbus entwickelt und produziert wird. Die A340 wurde in Toulouse, Frankreich, montiert. Es bietet Platz für bis zu 375 Passagiere in den Standard-Varianten und 440 in der gestreckten -600-Serie. Je nach Modell hat es eine Reichweite von 12.400 bis 16.700 km. Kennzeichnend sind vier Turbofan-Triebwerke und ein Drei-Fahrwerk-Hauptfahrwerk.
