The Bellanca CH-400 Skyrocket was a six-seat utility aircraft built in the US in the 1930s, a continuation of the design lineage that had started with the Bellanca WB-2. Retaining the same basic airframe of the preceding CH-200 and CH-300, the CH-400 was fitted with a more powerful Pratt & Whitney Wasp radial engine.

Die Bellanca CH-400 Skyrocket war ein Sechs-Plätziges Transportflugzeug das in den 30er jahren in den USA gebaut wurde. Unter  Beibehaltung der gleichen Flugzeugzelle der vorhergehenden CH-200 und CH-300 war die CH-400 mit einem stärkeren Pratt & Whitney Wasp Sternmotor ausgestattet.

Operational history

Einsatzgeschichte

Three examples were purchased by the U.S. Navy under the designation RE. Two were used for radio research, and one as an air ambulance for the U.S. Marine Corps. This latter aircraft was reconfigured to carry two stretchers.

Drei Maschinen wurden von der U.S. Navy unter der Bezeichnung RE erworben. Zwei wurden für Radio-Forschung, und ein als Luft-Ambulanzen für das U.S. Marine Corps eingesetzt. Dieses letztere Flugzeug wurde neu konfiguriert, um zwei Tragbaren zu tragen.
