The Vultee BT-13 Valiant is an American World War II-era basic trainer aircraft built by Vultee Aircraft for the U.S. Army Air Forces. A subsequent variant of the BT-13 in service was known as the BT-15 Valiant, while an identical version for the U.S. Navy was known as the SNV and was used to train naval aviators for the U.S. Navy and its sister services, the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard.

The BT-13 had a more powerful engine and was faster and heavier than the primary trainer. It required the student pilot to use two way radio communications with the ground and to operate landing flaps and a two-position Hamilton Standard controllable-pitch propeller. It did not, however, have retractable landing gear nor a hydraulic system. The flaps were operated by a crank-and-cable system.

Die Vultee BT-13 Valiant ist ein amerikanisches Basic Schulflugzeug aus der Zeit des Zweiten Weltkriegs von Vultee Aircraft für die U.S. Army Air Forces. Eine nachfolgende Variante der BT-13 im Dienst war als BT-15 Valiant bekannt, während eine identische Version für die U.S. Navy als SNV bekannt war und zur Ausbildung von Marinefliegern für die U.S. Navy und ihre Schwesterdienste, die USA, verwendet wurde U.S. Marine Corps und U.S. Coast Guard.
Die BT-13 hatte einen stärkeren Motor und war schneller und schwerer als die Haupttrainer. Es erforderte, dass der Flugschüler eine Zweiwege-Funkkommunikation mit dem Boden verwendet und Landeklappen und einen zweistufigen Hamilton-Standard-Pitchpropeller bediente. Es hatte jedoch weder ein Einziehfahrwerk noch ein Hydraulik-system. Die Klappen wurden über ein Kurbel-Seil-System betätigt.
