U.S. Marines Corps

The U.S. Marines were formed as part of armed force on 10 November, 1775, during the American War of Independence. Today, the corps comprises around 200'225 Active and 40'000 reservists. WINGS-AVIATION will focus here on the Marine aviation. The Marine aviation officially began on 22 May 1912, when First Lieutenant Alfred Austell Cunningham reported to Naval Aviation Camp in Annapolis, Maryland, "for duty in connection with aviation."
Die U.S. Marines wurden als Teilstreitkraft am 10. November 1775, also während dem amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg gegründet. Heute umfasst das Corps rund 200'225 Aktive und 40'000 Reservisten. WINGS-AVIATION konzentriert sich hier auf die Marine-Luftwaffe. Die Marine-Luftwaffe begann am 22.
