Entwicklung
In 1939, the Howard Aircraft Corporation produced a new development of the DGA design, the Howard DGA-15. Like its predecessors, the DGA-15 was a single engined high-winged monoplane with a wooden wing and a steel tube truss fuselage, but it was distinguished by a deeper and wider fuselage, allowing five people to be seated in comfort.
Im Jahr 1939 produzierte die Howard Aircraft Corporation eine Weiterentwicklung der DGA, die Howard DGA-15. Wie seine Vorgänger war der DGA-15 ein einmotoriger hochabgestrebter Eindecker mit einem hölzernen Flügel und einem Stahlrohr Rumpf, welcher sich durch eine grossen tiefen und breiteren Rumpf auszeichnet, so dass fünf Personen bequem sitzen können.

Einsatzgeschichte
Insgesamt wurden nur drei Maschinen der Howard GH- Nighingale von der U.S. Coast Guard ver-wendet, die von der U.S. Navy übernommen wurden. Die USCGS San Franciso verwendete die Maschinen ab Mitte 1944 für das Training des Instrumentenfluges.
