The Stinson Reliant is a popular single-engine four- to five-seat high-wing monoplane manufactured by the Stinson Aircraft Division of the Aviation Manufacturing Corporation of Wayne, Michigan.

1,327 Reliants of all types were made from 1933 to 1941, in different models, from SR-1 to SR-10. The final commercial model, the Stinson Reliant SR-10, was introduced in 1938. A militarized version was first flown in February 1942 and remained in production until late 1943.

Die Stinson Reliant ist ein beliebter einmotoriger vier- bis fünfsitziger Hochdecker, der von der Stinson Aircraft Division der Aviation Manufacturing Corporation in Wayne, Michigan, hergestellt wird.
1.327 Reliants aller Art wurden von 1933 bis 1941 in verschiedenen Modellen von SR-1 bis SR-10 hergestellt. Das letzte kommerzielle Modell, die Stinson Reliant SR-10, wurde 1938 eingeführt. Eine militarisierte Version wurde erstmals im Februar 1942 geflogen und blieb bis Ende 1943 in Produ-ktion.

One SR-5 Reliant powered by a 225-hp Lycoming R-680-4 radial piston engine was acquired by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1935, later redesig-nated XR3Q-1 and decommissioned in 1941.

The U. S. Coast Guard purchased one Stinson Re-liant in 1934 for electronics test at a cost of $11,370. It was stationed at the Coast Guard Air Station, Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, NY, and was given the Coast Guard serial number 149. By 1939 it was based with the Air Patrol Detachment at Air Station Cape May, NJ.

Sie war an der Coast Guard Air Station, Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, NY, stationiert und erhielt die Seriennummer 149 der Küstenwache.
