The Bell 429 GlobalRanger is a light, twin-engine helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter. First flight of the Bell 429 prototype took place on 27. February 2007. The impetus for developing the Bell 429 came primarily from the emergency medical services industry. The Bell 427 was originally intended to address this market, but the 427's small cabin size would not adequately accommodate a patient litter.
 

The 429 employs the all-new modular airframe concept and the advanced rotor blade design from the MAPL program, but maintains a derivative engine and rotor drive system from the 427. The basic model includes a glass cockpit and is certified for single pilot IFR.

Die Bell 429 GlobalRanger ist ein leichter, zwei-motoriger Hubschrauber, der von Bell Helicopter entwickelt wurde. Der Erstflug des Prototyps Bell 429 fand am 27. Februar 2007 statt. Die Impulse für die Entwicklung der Bell 429 kamen vor allem aus der Rettungsdienstbranche. Die Bell 427 war ursprünglich für diesen Markt gedacht, aber die geringe Kabinengrösse der 427 würde eine Patiententrtrage nicht aufnehmen.
Die 429 verwendet das völlig neue modulare Flugzeugzellenkonzept und das fortschrittliche Rotorblattdesign aus dem MAPL-Programm, behält jedoch ein abgeleitetes Motor- und Rotorantriebs-system der 427 bei. Das Basismodell umfasst ein Glascockpit und ist für Einzelpiloten IFR zertifiziert.
