The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. On 9.July 2007, a prototype 787 was rolled out without major operating systems, and then the aircraft experienced multiple delays until its maiden flight on 15.December 2009. The 787 was designed to be the first production airliner with the fuselage comprising one-piece composite barrel sections instead of the multiple aluminum sheets and some 50,000 fasteners used on existing aircraft. Boeing selected two new engines to power the 787, the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and General Electric GEnx.

Juli 2007 wurde ein 787-Prototyp ohne grosse Betriebssysteme ausgerollt, und dann kam es zu mehreren Verzögerungen bis zum Erstflug am 15. Dezember 2009. Die 787 wurde als erstes Serienflugzeug konzipiert, dessen Rumpf aus einteiligen Verbundrohrabschnitten besteht, anstatt aus mehreren Aluminiumblechen und etwa 50.000 Nieten, die bei bestehenden Flugzeugen verwendet werden. Boeing wählte zwei neue Triebwerke für den Antrieb der 787 aus, das Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 und General Electric GEnx.

With a typical capacity of 220 passengers and a range of 13,621 km, the −8 is the base model of the 787 family.

787-9

Keeping the same wingspan as the 787-8, the 787-9 is a lengthened and strengthened variant with a 6.1 m longer fuselage and a 24,700 kg higher maximum take-off weight, seating 259 passengers in a typical three-class arrangement.

The 787-10 is 68 m long, seats 336 passengers in a two-class cabin configuration, and has a range of 11,720 km.
