The Bell 412 is a twin-engine utility helicopter of the Huey / Iroquois family manufactured by Bell Helicopter. It is a development of the Bell 212, with the major difference being the composite four-blade main rotor. Development began in the late 1970s with two Bell 212s being converted into 412 prototypes. An advanced four-blade main rotor with a smaller diameter replaced the 212's two-blade rotor. The Bell 412 prototype first flew in August 1979.

Die Bell 412 ist ein zweimotoriger Mehrzweck-hubschrauber der Huey / Iroquois-Familie von Bell Helicopter. Es ist eine Weiterentwicklung der Bell 212, wobei der Hauptunterschied der Vierblatt-Hauptrotor ist. Die Entwicklung begann in den späten 1970er Jahren mit zwei Bell 212, die in 412 Prototypen umgewandelt wurden. Ein fortschrittlicher Vierblatt-Hauptrotor mit einem kleineren Durchmesser ersetzte den Zweiblatt-Rotor der 212. Die Bell 412 Prototyp flog erstmals im August 1979.

Einsatzgeschichte

Bell 412
As replacement for the Bell 212 the RTAF acquired in 1982 two Bell 412 for the Royal Flight. Since 1991 the Bell 412 where used only as Search & Rescue helicopter and the task of a Royal Flight helicopter was taken over from the new Bell 412SP. The Bell 412 where camouflaged in two green and brown (SEA Camouflage) and later repainted to the now standard three pattern the gray colour.

Als Ersatz für die Bell 212 erwarb die RTAF 1982 zwei Bell 412 für den Royal Flight. Ab 1991 wurde die Bell 412 nur als Such- und Rettungs-hubschrauber eingesetzt und die Aufgabe des Royal Flight Hubschraubers wurde von den neuen Bell 412SP übernommen. Die Bell 412 wurde in zwei grüntönen und braun getarnt (SEA Tarnung) und später nach dem jetzt serienmäßigen Drei-farben-Muster in grau neu lackiert.

The RTAF bought in 1991 2 Bell 412SP model and one Bell 214HP from Canada to use as the Royal Flight. The two 412SP helicopter are in use for the Royal Family and the 412HP (dark gray colour) is in use for the Royal staff (who belongs to the King).

Die RTAF kauften im Jahr 1991 zwei Bell 412SP-Modelle und eine Bell 214HP aus Kanada die für die Royal Flight verwendet werden. Die beiden 412SP Hubschrauber sind im Einsatz für die königliche Familie und die 412HP (dunkelgrauer Farbe) ist im Einsatz ist für die Begleitung des Königs.

In 1998 the RTAF acquired four Bell 412EP from the Bell factory in USA. The 412EP, designated as H.6D, are used as utility helicopters for the Royal Flight. In 2003 two more 412EP where procured from Bell in Textron Canada. They are used by the former Crown Prince Maha Vajilalongkorn.

1998 kaufte die RTAF vier Bell 412EP direkt von der Bell Fabrik in de USA. Die 412EP wurden als H.6D bezeichnet und werden als Mehrzweck Hubschrauber für den Royal Flight verwendet. 2003 wurde zwei weitere von Bell Textron in Kanada erworben. Sie wurden lange vom früheren Kronprinzen Maha Vajilalongkorn. verwendet.
