Royal Thai Air Force Museum
If you are in Bangkok and have time, you should take time to visit the museum of the RTAF, because it is one the better in the world. It's on the eastern side of the old airport Don Muang at the Paholyothin road soouth of the terminal of the RTAF 6. Wing.
Open from 8.30 - 16,30 and the admission is free.

The Museum host approx. 54 planes and Helicopters. Half are restored however in not airworthy condition. The remaining machines are in different conditions. It has such who regard beautifully but however under the color the corrosion has far progressed. Gears simply silver re-painted over the rust-pure to creat a condition in that it in former times not hav flown or looked.

During my stay at the Museum on the 26 June 2006 I discoered a new hall that accommodate two F-5s (the F-5E has been removen from the museum ). New is also a OV-10C Bronco from Chiang Mai.
Wenn man in Bangkok ist und Zeit hat, sollte man sich die Zeit nehmen das Museum der RTAF zu besuchen, denn es ist eines der besseren auf der Welt. Es ist auf der Ostseite des alten Flughafens Don Muang an der Paholyothin Strasse südlich des Terminals der 6. Wing der RTAF. Es ist von 8.30 - 16.30 Uhr offen und kostet keinen Eintritt.

Es sind dort ca. 54 Maschinen ausgestellt. Die Hälfte sind restauriert aber in nicht flugfähigem Zustand. Die restlichen Maschinen befinden sich in unterschiedlichem Zustand. Es hat solche die schön anzusehen sind aber unter der Farbe ist die Korrosion weit fortgeschritten. Fahrwerke wurden einfach silbern überstrichen um die Rostspuren zu beseitigen ein Zustand in dem sie früher nicht flogen.
Bei meinem Besuch im Museum am 26. Juni 2006 konnte ich eine neue Halle entdecken in der die beiden F-5s untergebracht sind. (Die F-5E wurde wieder aus dem Museum entfernt). Neu ist auch eine OV-10C Bronco aus Chiang Mai.
