Naval Aviation Portal

.

In 2006, the former www.wings.de.ms published the first article about the Royal Thai Navy. At this time very little informations were available of the RTN. Over the years, other articles on naval forces where published and we have decided to include them in the NAVAL AVIATION PORTAL.

.

U.S. Navy
The chapter about the U.S. Navy takes a large space on www.wings aviation.ch. Well over three hundred different planes, the U.S. Navy (Aviation) flying in your century-old history. These pages provide informations about all planes and helicopters of the US Navy. Other topics are the carriers and their Squadrons of the U.S. Navy. Season the individual stories and the markings of the machines. The compilation of all the carrier groups and other organizations in the U.S. Navy.

.
.

U.S. Marines

The chapter on the U.S. Marines shows the aircraft flown by this branch of the armed forces as well as all the squadrons since its foundation. The combat formation of this force and some of its traditions. As usual with Wings-Aviation, only the aviation part of the U.S. Marines is depicted. Unusually, the Marines have their own marching band, "Semper Fidelis", composed by John Philip Sousa.

.

U.S. Coast Guard

.
.

Royal Navy / Fleet Air Arm
The British Navy is one of the oldest and most traditional in the world. This chapter is still under construction and is intended to show all the important aircraft of the Royal Navy. In the first phase, the aircraft will be illuminated after 1945. Some of the Royal Navy carriers are also presented in this chapter.

.
.

Aéronavale

Another chapter is dedicated to the Aéronavale. The French Navy had to start all over again in 1945 and was immediately embroiled in the Indochina War. Many Aéronavale machines came from the USA or England during this time. With the Rafale and the carrier Charles De Gaule, the Aéronavale now has a modern arsenal.

Marineflieger
The German naval aviation emerged in 1956 with the rearmament of the Federal Republic of Germany and experienced their climax in the Cold War with up to 200 aircraft and helicopters. Since the reunification in 1990, the naval aviation forces have been greatly reduced and now consist of only a few units.

.
.

Koninklijke Marine

After the Second World War, the Koninklijke Marine experienced a boom and even operated aircraft carriers. After the loss of the colonies, the navy was greatly reduced and today it has also shrunk to two helicopter squadrons.

.

Royal Thai Navy
In 2006, WINGS-AVIATION published the first article about the Royal Thai Navy. Very little information was available about the RTN at the time. The RTN has a very interesting history that experienced a decisive turning point in 1951. Today, the RTN is the only nation in Asia with an aircraft carrier.

.
.

Royal Australian Navy
Between 1948 and 1982, the Royal Australian Navy commanded several aircraft carriers. The carriers were British ships left to the RAN.
For several years, the RAN has only had helicopters and no fixed-wing aircraft. In 2023, the RAN comprised four squadrons, one of which is equipped with drones.
