The design of the Prince continued from the P.48 Merganser. Further development of the type led to the Survey Prince survey aircraft and the Sea Prince. An improved version of the Prince 3 with an increased wingspan and engine and undercarriage modifications was developed for the Royal Air Force as the Percival Pembroke.
Das Design der Prince wurde von der P.48 Merganser abgeleitet. Eine Weiterentwicklung des Typs führte zum Vermessungsflugzeug Survey Prince und zum Sea Prince. Eine verbesserte Version des Prince 3 mit vergrösserter Spannweite sowie Motor- und Fahrwerkmodifikationen wurde für die Royal Air Force als Percival Pembroke entwickelt.

Einsatzgeschichte
Of the 34 Pembrokes ordered for the Bundeswehr on 21. January 1957, six were destined for the MSnStff (Kiel), later MFG-5. However, the use of this type by such a special unit should not obscure the fact that the Pembroke was primarily used as a medium transport and liaison aircraft. It was already being used for such tasks by various air forces at the time. The arrival of the Domier Do-28D Skyservant in 1971/72 was also the signal to retire the Pembroke.
Von den 34 für die Bundeswehr am 21. Januar 1957 bestellten Pembroke waren sechs für die MSnStff (Kiel) später MFG-5 bestimmt. Der Einsatz dieses Musters bei einer solchen Spezialeinheit darf je-doch nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass die Pem-broke primär als mittleres Transport und Ver-bindungsflugzeug verwendet wurde. Für solche Aufgaben wurde sie damals schon bei ver-schiedenen Luftstreitkräften betrieben. Das Ein-treffen der Domier Do-28D Skyservant 1971/ 72 war gleichzeitig das Signal zur Ausmusterung der Pembroke.
