History

Geschichte

 

Formed about 1967 with CASI assistance to provide General Vang Pao an "integral" air transport capability in North Laos to support refugee activities. Detractors suggest an improved means to haul opium secretly. Went away after loss of equipment.

 

Gegründet um 1967 mit der Unterstützung der CASI, um General Vang Pao eine "integrierte" Lufttransportkapazität in Nordlaos zur Verfügung zu stellen, um Flüchtlingsaktivitäten zu unterstützen. Kritiker sagen ein verbessertes Mittel vor, um heimlich Opium zu transportieren. Ging nach dem Verlust der Maschinen ein.

Douglas C-47B Skytrain, XW-TDC, The approach and landing at Long Tieng Airstrip were completed in heavy rain falls. After touchdown, the airplane went out of control, veered off runway, lost its undercarriage and came to rest. There were no casualties.

J, While descending to Long Tieng Airstrip, the crew encountered poor weather conditions when the airplane struck a hill and crashed. All four occupants were killed.
