Guido E. Buehlmann is probably one of the world’s most famous aviation journalists I ever met. Since over 55 years he travelled all over the world, been on all five continents and visited most of the countries around the globe. Always looking for the best and most rare airplane shots and the top stories around aviation. So we readers then could follow the stories in the magazines.
Guido E. Buehlmann was born 1936 in Neuenkirch near Lucerne, Switzerland. Already as a young boy he was interested in photography as well as aviation. During the past decades his slides of very rare airplanes and fantastic background views became famous. Aviation technique combined with nature made these pictures unique.
He never kept his experience and his knowledge for him self and always try to share it with everybody else, especially with all the youngsters. Since many years he organized group travelling to Russia to give us a great sight into the Russian civil- and military aviation. In the meantime he was 38 times in Russia!
His tremendous knowledge about civil- and military aviation, as well as his collection of several ten thousands of slides and pictures, is probably like a walking and living “encyclopedia”. Just recently I had several times the opportunity to listen to his stories and see the great pictures at his home.
Guido E. Bühlmann ist wohl einer der begnadetsten Aviatik-Journalisten die ich kenne. Seit über 55 Jahren bereist Er alle Kontinente und war wohl in den meisten Ländern dieser Erde, immer auf der Suche nach den besten Bildern und Stories, die wir dann mit Hochgenuss in den Aviatik-Magazinen lesen konnten.
Geboren 1936 in Neuenkirch/LU entdeckte Er sehr früh das Interesse und die Leidenschaft an der Fotografie und natürlich der Aviatik. Seine Bilder (Dias) bestechen nicht nur durch die sehr oft seltenen Flugzeugtypen, sondern immer wieder durch die Kombination von Technik, Natur und grandiosen Hintergrundmotiven.
Guido E. Bühlmann behält jedoch seine „Schätze“ und sein Wissen nicht nur für sich selbst. Seit vielen Jahren organisiert Er auch ganz spezielle Aviatik-Reisen für Interessierte nach Russland. Über dreißig solcher Russlandreisen sind es mittlerweile geworden!
Sein immenses Wissen über die zivile und militärische Luftfahrt, sowie seine Sammlung von zehntausenden von Dias, ist wohl eine der größten „Enzyklopädien“ im Bereich der Luftfahrt. So hatte ich in letzter Zeit mehrmals das Vergnügen, in den Genuss eines Dia-Vortrags von Guido E. Bühlmann zu kommen die einfach fantastisch sind.
